Front & Back Matter, Generated in Your Book's Style

Matter pages are the non-coloring pages that make a book feel finished: the title page, an ownership/nameplate page, a farewell page. Coloring Book Engine generates them in your book’s art style — hand-lettered title art, themed decorations — instead of the generic typeset pages most self-published books settle for.

Click the wand button on the front matter or back matter card. The generation dialog is pre-filled from your project’s brainstorm — edit anything before generating:

Field Notes
Book Title (front only) Baked into the FM-1 title page as hand-lettered art.
Theme e.g., forest animals, vintage botanical.
Art Style e.g., bold rounded cartoon line art.
Mascot Description Optional. Supports # mentions of your Image Pool characters, so your hero can appear on the title page.
Cover Hero Composition (FM-1) (front only) Art direction for the title-page illustration.

Press Generate (this spends AI credits — front matter is 4 pages, back matter 2, with blank pages costing nothing) and watch the progress grid: each page moves through Generating image → Vectorizing → Composing PDF page → Saving. The result is saved as a matter PDF and appears as page thumbnails on the card.

The standard set: FM-1 title echo, FM-2 page-protection note, FM-3 ownership/nameplate, FM-4 blank — and BM-1 farewell, BM-2 blank. The trailing blanks are intentional: they keep the book’s left/right page parity correct for printing.

Each card is also a drop zone — drop (or click to pick) any PDF to use as your matter. Page thumbnails render on the card; the X button removes it.

If your front matter ends up with an odd page count, a dashed make it even button appears — one click adds a blank page so your first coloring page starts on the correct side of the spread. If you’re unsure whether you need it: you do.
