Troubleshooting Coloring Book Engine
Generation Won’t Start
Section titled “Generation Won’t Start”- API Key Required / Send button disabled — no AI key is configured. Projects screen → Connect Your AI.
- Prompt is required for generation — the page has no prompt; fill it in Plan.
- Run Rest is disabled — there’s nothing to fill: every page is done or already queued.
- Prerequisites Not Ready — a stage is missing its input (e.g., coloring needs processed sketches). The message names the stage to finish first.
Generation Stops or Fails
Section titled “Generation Stops or Fails”- Generation Stopped (after 2 consecutive failures) — the queue pauses to protect your credits. The usual causes are provider rate limits or a temporary outage; wait a minute and press Run Rest to continue where it stopped.
- 429 / rate-limit errors — the app already paces requests, but other tools sharing your API key count against the same limit. Pause the other tool or wait it out.
- Organization Verification Required — gpt-image-2 needs a one-time verification on your OpenAI account; generation continues automatically on dall-e-3 meanwhile. Retry affected pages after verifying (style anchors need a reference-capable model).
- A single page keeps failing — retry it individually; if it persists, slightly reword that page’s prompt (occasionally a specific prompt trips a provider’s content filter).
Output Looks Wrong
Section titled “Output Looks Wrong”- Character looks different on some pages — make sure those pages’ prompts actually mention the character (
{Name}), and that the pages weren’t generated during a dall-e-3 fallback (the card shows a notice if so). - Style drifts across the book — set a style anchor in Sketch’s toolbar (needs a style image in your Image Pool).
- Mask leaks color into the background — open that page in the Masking Editor and flood-fill the leak; two clicks usually fix it.
- Video card shows “Missing: …” — that page skipped an Assets step; the message names which one.
Still Stuck?
Section titled “Still Stuck?”Contact support — include the exact message text and which stage/tab you were on, and we can usually pinpoint it immediately.
